Ruma Rua 2019

We have been lucky to have Kelly Sports working with us to help us with our gymnastic skills. This will help our balance, body co-ordination and spatial awareness.

The rain held off for us in order to complete our cross country. We looked awesome in our house t-shirts and ran really fast. Well done to everyone in Ruma Rua for completing the cross country!

At the beginning of the school term we held an ANZAC ceremony at our school. Ruma Rua made a poppy field which Tristan and Hannah put under our school flag pole. Lest we forget

For our must do we practised some of our foundation skills and made these disguises. Do you recognise any of these faces in our class?

We are lucky to have a large oak tree that provides lots of shade for us in our junior playground. In autumn time our playground is covered with acorns that drop from this tree. We had some 'squirrels' in our class on Friday at lunchtime busily collecting some acorns and proudly storing them on the picnic tables on our playground. They were very proud of their efforts!

We had a great day on Tuesday for our duathlon. The weather was perfect, no wind and no rain! We had lots of people come and cheer us on. The children in Ruma Rua all did extremely well, with everyone completing the race!

We had a great afternoon on Friday demonstrating our swimming skills to our whanau. It has been amazing to see the progress some children have made over the past few weeks. Their confidence and skills have sky rocketed. Ka pai Ruma Rua, we are all very proud of you!
